It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Agnes Segura Munoz, affectionately known as Inez, at the age of 89. Inez departed this world on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Infinity Hospice Care Las Vegas, Nevada.
Born on September 25, 1935, in Pintada, New Mexico, Inez was the beloved daughter of Silviano Segura and Queta Sena. She was the cherished sister of Margie Munoz, Mary Dominguez, Lorraine Gutierrez, Joe Segura, Manuel Segura, and Sam Segura.
At the age of 15, Inez married Roy Romero, and later, at 22, she married Richard Munoz, with whom she shared a loving life and welcomed nine children: Roy Romero, Rose Romero, Chris Schweiter, Gennie Julian, Steve Munoz, Sandra Munoz-Braidman, Sonia Munoz (triplet), David Munoz (deceased), and Richard Munoz Jr. Inez took immense pride in being the matriarch of a large family, becoming a grandmother to eleven and a great-grandmother to nineteen.
Inez's early life was rich with stories and traditions, notably spending time with her grandmother gathering herbs, a skill passed down through generations. She was a strong, determined woman who returned to school at 43 to earn her GED from Barstow College, followed by certifications in medical assistance and workers' compensation.
An accomplished seamstress and avid gardener, Inez enjoyed cake decorating, traveling with her sisters, and sharing joyful moments with her grandchildren, particularly Nicole and Jody. She also dedicated her time to mentoring young women through her volunteer work with Project Hope House.
Inez was a vibrant member of the Roman Catholic community and held strong Democratic values. Her spirited sense of humor and wisdom left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She is survived by her siblings Margie Munoz, Mary Dominguez, Lorraine Gutierrez, and Sam Segura, along with her loving children and grandchildren. Inez was predeceased by her husband Richard Munoz and her son Richard Munoz Jr.
A celebration of Inez's life will be held on November 21, 2024, from 12:40 PM to 1:10 PM, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
