Obituary

Sergeant Alexander Patrick "Alex" Liscio, 24, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on June 6, 2026. Born on October 18, 2001, in Reno, Nevada, Alex was a devoted son and a proud soldier whose life was guided by faith and purpose. On his 18th birthday, Alex enlisted in the U.S. Military in Caliente, Nevada, embarking on a journey that would define his legacy. Serving as an RQ-7 Repairer and Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Operator (MOS 15W), he became part of the Special Operations Robotics Detachment (SORD), Advanced Technical Operations Company (ATOC), Group Support Battalion (GSB), 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). His service included deployments to Syria during Operation Inherent Resolve and two tours in Poland. In recognition of his exemplary contributions in Syria, Alex was awarded The Army Commendation Medal in 2023. He earned his promotion to Sergeant on October 1, 2024. Recently, Alex had begun an aeronautics course and was eagerly planning a move to Florida in October to pursue higher education. His enthusiasm for life and learning was evident as he embraced new opportunities with passion. He touched the lives of those around him with his courage, humor, and kind spirit, he brought light to everyone he encountered. Alex is survived by his loving mother Darlene Liscio; father David Gustafson; and their extended families. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. May Sergeant Alexander Patrick "Alex" Liscio rest in eternal peace.
