Andrew Alfred Stowe, affectionately known as “Andy” and “Smiley,” passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 74.

Andy was born on July 26, 1952, in Joliet, Illinois, to Anna Moen Alstrom and Shirley Stowe. He was a lifelong learner, earning his degree from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1976 and later receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Phillips College in 1994.

Andy was married to the love of his life, Penelope “Penny” Stowe, who preceded him in death. He enjoyed gambling, traveling, farming, and antique cars. His many interests and adventures reflected his curiosity and appreciation for life.

He is survived by his brothers, Ralph (Pam), David (Mary), and Thomas (Kathy); his daughter, Tina Jones (Chris); his son, Andrew Stowe, Jr.; his daughter, Marie Woody (Patrick); and his son-in-law, Chris Woody. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Courtney, Andrea, Jessica, Cassandra, Emily, and Deja; and his great-grandchildren, Aydan, Gavin, and Evan.

Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Penelope; his parents, Anna and Shirley; his brother, Norman; his daughter, Andrea; his grandson, Dylan; and his great-grandson, Leo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 30, at Care Cremation and Burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners International in Andy’s memory. His memory will live on through the family and friends who knew and loved him.
