Angela was born on February 29, 1948, in Pinar del Río, Cuba. At just 15 years old, she left her homeland with her family and began a new life in Chicago, Illinois, carrying with her a resilience and joy that would define her life. In 1965, Angela met Manolo Torrente, and shortly thereafter moved to Las Vegas to become part of Latin Fire, an all-Latin show that celebrated culture, music, and dance. It was during her time in Las Vegas that she met Aldo Mesa. The two were married on January 25, 1967, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and family. After marriage, Angela stepped away from the stage to dedicate herself to raising her family. She became a devoted mother to her first son, Aldo, born in 1970, and in 1973 welcomed twin sons, Andy and Allen. Family was the center of her world, and her pride in her children never wavered. Angela was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren-Miranda, Anna, Alex, Adam, Dominick, and Aidan-each of whom brought her immense joy. Her home was always full, rarely quiet, and never short on laughter. Family and friends were constantly coming and going, drawn by her warmth, her cooking, and the unmistakable sense of love that filled the house. Music, cooking, and being surrounded by the people she loved were Angela's greatest passions. She had an infectious spirit and was truly the life of the party-someone who made every gathering brighter simply by being there. Angela will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her generous heart, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Her love lives on through her children, her grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
