Armando Erik
Emery
Jun 7, 1993 — Feb 5, 2026
In loving memory of Armando Erik Emery. Armando aka Mondo aka 007Mondo was born on June 7, 1993, in Oakland, CA. Mondo lived in Las Vegas, Nevada until he passed away on February 5, 2026.
Armando was surrounded by love as he was welcomed into this world by his loving parents, Armando and Erika Emery. Mondo exuded a loving energy that was magnetic from the moment he was born to the day he passed away. His smile, his laugh, his love, and his tenacity brought joy to everyone around him. His smile was like a bright light that filled the hearts and souls of others. His laugh was contagious. His love for self and others ran deep. His bolstering tenacity drove him and inspired others.
As a child, Armando loved to play sports, create music, act/model, and go on family vacations. While Mondo loved the competition sports offered, he thoroughly enjoyed the social experiences associated with playing sports. Although naturally outgoing, Mondo also valued his quiet time, often channeling his creativity into writing poetry, crafting rap lyrics, and producing beats. After attending a photoshoot with his mom, Mondo discovered a passion for being in front of the camera and performing on stage. With his parents' support, he began pursuing acting and modeling professionally at just nine years old.
"Work hard, play hard" has always been the Emery way, and family vacations were a big part of that lifestyle. Mondo's favorite family trips included vacations to LA, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Arizona, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He treasured every journey and the special moments shared with his loved ones during his childhood. Mondo especially loved the camping and fishing trips his father planned, which the whole family enjoyed.
As a teen, Armando continued to cultivate his childhood hobbies. At this stage in his life, Mondo also developed an interest in auto mechanics and music. In high school, Mondo asked to transfer to a smaller school so he could earn academic credit for pursuing his passion for working on cars. Although music became secondary to his studies during that time, Mondo continued refining his artistic style. Drawing on his broad knowledge and appreciation of diverse musical genres, Mondo blended different influences together to create a distinctive sound of his own.
In adulthood, Mondo's entrepreneurial drive shaped his independence and his growing passion for music filled his soul. His entrepreneurial lifestyle allowed Mondo to focus on his music while also providing the flexibility to spend more time with family and travel at his leisure.
Armando, the music artist, enjoyed the technique and creativity associated with lyricism. Under the name 007Mondo, he wrote and produced multiple singles, released an album, and brought a few music videos to life. His album, In Love with C Notes, reflects his passion for music, his drive to succeed, and his captivating personality. As a native of East Oakland, Mondo made sure to pay homage to his city while developing a style that was entirely his own. His metaphors were clever, his lyrics provocative, and the beats he selected are truly a vibe. Though Armando left us far too soon, his music will live forever.
Armando, the family man, shared a remarkable bond with everyone he loved. He especially enjoyed surprising his mom by showing up at family gatherings, even after saying he couldn't make it. Their connection was so strong that they spoke on the phone daily, and despite living in different states, they never let more than a couple of months pass without seeing each other. Mondo also cherished conversations with his brothers, Daeveon and Byron, and with his father, Big Mondo. They talked about everything from their daily lives and future plans to cars, music, camping, and future business ventures. Their chats were often filled with jokes, laughter, and plans for future bowling competitions. Their most recent bowling competition was for the title of Big Mondo, a name Armando Erik claimed for himself, saying he deserved it because he was "on his big one"—meaning he was reaching a new stage in life.
Additionally, FaceTime calls with his grandmother held a special place in Mondo's heart, deepening their loving bond. More recently, he was thrilled to connect with his brother Byron via FaceTime regularly, which gave him the chance to bond with his newborn niece, Alyza. He loved her and was excited about their future relationship as he planned to give her the world.
Armando also shared a close bond with his cousins and friends. He enjoyed playing video games online with his brothers, cousins, and friends, and he loved pulling playful pranks on family and friends over the phone—often recording them for fun.
Armando, the adventurer, loved taking trips with his girl. He loved spending time in tropical environments. When in Miami, Mondo loved to shop, visit fine dining establishments, and immerse himself in the nightlife. When in the Virgin Islands, Mondo loved to swim, ride a jet ski, and mingle with the locals. As he once said, "The islands got a hold of me… me no say nothing wrong with the island, EVER. Everything is everything…" Even though the climate was entirely different, Armando also had a special fondness for Colorado—particularly Aspen, Valle, and Denver—where he loved snowboarding and engaging in other winter activities. When exploring locally, Mondo loved driving his muscle car as well as riding his motorcycle and dirt bike.
Throughout his life, Mondo's charisma naturally drew people to him, and his love for others was evident in the way he supported their dreams. The loss of Armando Erik Emery is devastating to all who love him. Armando is survived by his parents, Armando and Erika Emery; his brothers, Byron and Daeveon; his grandmother, Rita; his grandfather, Wayne; his favorite uncle Brian; his favorite aunties, Janae and Yana; as well as the countless uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever love Armando. Armando Erik Emery is preceded in death by is grannie, Deborah.
