Benedict Charles Fama Sr. (Ben) passed just before Christmas of 2024 in his home. Ben was born and raised in Washington D.C to his parents, Charles and Mary Fama. He had a sister, Maria Fama Edmonds, who preceded him in death in 2021, as well as an older brother, Dominic, who passed in infancy. Ben had a high school diploma, but was a self-taught man in various hobbies including working on cars, computers, and other electronics. Ben also briefly did some volunteer police work in Washington DC during the DC riots.
Ben has lived in other areas of the country including South Carolina and New Mexico where he had his first son, Rahm Fama. Ben then moved to Las Vegas in 1974, where he remained until his passing. He had his children Ben Fama Jr. and Lisa Fama in Las Vegas. He also met his current wife, Sandra Fama. They had four more children together: Genina, Paula, Sandra Mary (preceded Ben in death in 2005), and Dominic Fama. Ben worked as a slot floorman at Caesars Palace for 21 years then at Arizona Charlies East for 5 years. He worked a year at Balleys Computer Repair shop for 1 year until his retirement in 2006.
Family meant a lot to Ben, and he remained in close contact with his sister and family in South Carolina. He will be missed and remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, and nephews in South Carolina. The Fama family also wishes to thank those who have given them their support during this difficult time.
