Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Byron C Maly, a beloved husband, father, friend, and "Gramps" as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren. Byron departed this life peacefully on October 21, 2025. Born on February 18, 1941, in Fargo, North Dakota, Byron dedicated his life to service as a proud member of the U.S. Navy, where he served with honor and distinction, and developed his sense of discipline, camaraderie, and appreciation for the freedoms we cherish. Upon completion of his military duty, Byron could be found playing saxophone in underground clubs around San Francisco with his passion for jazz music. He also had an unyielding love for the outdoors, especially fishing throughout the many lakes of Central California. Byron also became an astute carpenter and consummate handyman after he began it as a hobby, he could build and fix most anything. He was equally skilled in the kitchen serving several of his signature masterpieces dishes. Byron was a man of immense kindness and generosity. In his prime, he always found a way to offer his time and energy to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He was selfless and had a compassionate spirit that touched the lives of many. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may be gone, Byron's spirit will continue to bestow itself wherever we are, reminding us to live with kindness, and an appreciation for the world around us. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Byron is survived by his devoted wife Georgie, and his beloved daughter Jennifer.
