Calvin Leavitt, born June 4, 1933, passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his home in Blue Diamond, NV, surrounded by family.
Calvin was born in Mesquite, NV, one of eight siblings, to parents Elva and Calvin Leavitt. He married the love of his life, Patsy Leavitt, in 1957, and together they shared 68 wonderful years. Cal worked in floor covering for more than 40 years and later retired from the Nevada Housing Authority. From 1954 to 1956, he proudly served in the United States Army. Cal loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, miner, fisher, and a devoted collector of many things, especially rocks. His curiosity, hardworking nature, and deep appreciation for the land defined much of his life and brought joy to those around him.
Calvin is preceded in death by his son, Barry Leavitt, who passed on July 22, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Leavitt; his brother Harvey (Karen) Leavitt; his son, David Bryant Leavitt; and his two grandsons, Nathan (Abby) Leavitt and Andrew (Leo) Leavitt.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at 2 Village Blvd, Blue Diamond, NV 89004.
