Catherine "Cathy" Lopez, 91 of Las Vegas NV, passed away in her home on January 1, 2025. Cathy was born on February 13, 1933, in Kansas City, MO to Alfred E Becerra and Catalina M Becerra. As a loving wife and young mother, Catherine moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1962 when her husband, Charles Lopez, accepted a new job and where they raised their family for 62 years. Cathy married Charles on October 7, 1955, in Kansas City, MO. They lived there for seven years before moving to Las Vegas, NV. Theirs was a love story for the books. They were completely devoted to each and shared a love like not many get to share for over 69 years. During their years together they raised five children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was lovingly known as GG to all of her grand and great-grandchildren.

She was an artist by trade, creating the most beautiful porcelain dolls which have been purchased by celebrities such as Maria Osmond and Shields and Yarnell. Cathy lived for holidays and birthdays when all of her family would come to her house to celebrate the joy of life with a house filled with over 40 family members. She was also very active with events held at St. Christopher's such as Cinco De Mayo, church bazaar and more.

Full of love, laughter, and resilience. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.

Cathy was also an amazing cook (She would feed you until you burst), seamstress, cake decorator, crafter, "domestic engineer" and so much more. She loved her people with all her heart and will be greatly missed. Cathy's family asks that she be remembered for the joy everyone brought into her life not the sadness of her passing.

Catherine is survived by her brothers Albert Becerra and Hector Becerra; sisters, Arcelia Glass, Alicia Meurlott, daughters Athena Zuniga and Lisa Sexton, sons Mike Lopez, Richard Lopez and Ray Lopez; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband and love of her life Charles Lopez, parents, brothers and sisters: Alfredo and Catalina Becerra, John Becerra, Alfred Becerra and Mary Lopez.

To commemorate her beautiful journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at St. Christophers Church, 1830 N Bruce St, North Las Vegas NV 89030 on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
