Catherine ('Cathy') Jean Williams (ne Carroll), a beloved mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, at the age of 76 years, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cathy was born on May 26, 1947, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was a remarkable soul, adopted by her maternal grandmother, Agnes May Carroll, and her husband, Paul Wesley Carroll, who nurtured her with love and care. At the tender age of 16, Cathy embarked on a journey that would define her life. She converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and relocated to Las Vegas, where she attended Las Vegas High School and began to pursue a higher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her passion for making a difference in the lives of others led her to a fulfilling career in child welfare and juvenile probation for Clark County, a role she embraced until her retirement in 1989. In 1982, Cathy's life was further enriched when she welcomed her son, Paul Williams, into the world. In 1989, Cathy and Paul moved to Farmington, Utah, where Cathy would go on to marry Osmyn Williams. Cathy's life in Utah was marked by devotion to her family and community. She remained a steadfast presence, making countless cherished memories, until her return to Las Vegas in 2016. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Osmyn, and her stepdaughter, Heather. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her son Paul, his wife Elysia, and her grandchildren: Nellie, Roman, and Nora, all residing in Las Vegas. Cathy's love extended to her stepchildren: Joseph (Tammy), Kimberly (Scott) Ditty, John, Jason, Jared, and Jennifer, as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, all residing in Utah. To celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, we invite you to join us for her funeral services on Saturday, September 23, at 11:00 a.m. The services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 5100 East Sun Valley Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada 89122. Following the service, Cathy will be laid to rest at Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery, situated at 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123, at 1:00 p.m.
