**Cecelia C. Brazet ("Chris")**

*February 8, 1947 – May 26, 2026*

Cecelia C. Brazet, lovingly known to family and friends as "Chris," passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of her family.

Chris was born on February 8, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Vladimir and Celia Kuchynka. She grew up on the west side of Cleveland, where she attended Sackett Elementary School and later graduated from Rhodes High School. Following graduation, she began her career working at Cleveland Time Clock in downtown Cleveland.

A beautiful love story began when Chris met the love of her life, Kenneth Brazet, at a popular drive-in restaurant, Diney's, on West 117th Street in Cleveland. After dating for four years, she confidently told a friend, "I'm going to marry that guy." Her prediction came true when she and Ken were united in marriage on August 16, 1969, at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Chris was baptized, received her First Communion, and was confirmed at St. Leo's Church. Later, her family attended the Presbyterian Church, but her faith remained an important foundation throughout her life.

Chris and Ken began their married life in Brooklyn, Ohio, before moving to Parma and eventually purchasing their family home in Burton, Ohio, in 1971. They later spent ten years in Macedonia, Ohio, before retiring to Henderson, Nevada. In 2001, after Ken retired from Ford Motor Company, they made Sun City Anthem their home.

Chris's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Christine, born in Parma, Ohio, and Craig, Claudine, and Carrie, born in Geauga County, Ohio. One of the family's most memorable stories was Carrie's dramatic birth, delivered on the living room couch with the assistance of the local volunteer fire department.

For eight years, Chris dedicated countless hours as a "unicycle mom" with the children of St. Helen's Parish in Newbury, Ohio. She traveled extensively to practices, parades, competitions, and festivals throughout Ohio and across state lines, always supporting and encouraging her children.

Throughout her life, Chris was known for her strong work ethic and caring heart. She worked as a house cleaner and caregiver in Burton, Macedonia, and later Henderson, Nevada. Her compassion for others and willingness to help those in need made her a trusted friend and caregiver to many.

Chris loved traveling and creating memories with her family. She and Ken enjoyed vacations through their timeshare in Kissimmee, Florida, and treasured opportunities to explore new places together.

She was an active member of her church communities, attending St. Thomas More Church until 2004 and later worshiping at Twitchell Elementary and St. Francis. She also had a passion for automobiles, proudly owning several favorite vehicles throughout her life, including a Mustang and, later, a 2020 Camaro.

In recent years, Chris faced significant health challenges with remarkable courage and determination. Beginning in 2022, she battled lung cancer, underwent a lobectomy, triple bypass heart surgery, and managed atrial fibrillation. Despite these challenges, she remained strong, faithful, and devoted to those she loved. She was grateful to spend her final days peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

Chris is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Brazet; her children, Christine, Craig, Claudine, and Carrie; her sister, Diane of Florida; her grandchildren, Tiffany and Anthony; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vladimir and Celia Kuchynka, and her brothers, Kenneth and Robert.

Chris will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her generous spirit, her strength, her sense of humor, and the countless sacrifices she made for those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Though she is no longer with us, her love, faith, and devotion will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
