Charles "Charlie" Lopez, 94 of Las Vegas NV, passed away in his home on November 17, 2024. Charles was born on March 6, 1930, in Kansas City, KS to Mary Louise Suarez. He was lovingly known as Papa Charlie to most.

Charles was a Korean War Veteran and served in the Navy from 1950-1954. He then married his wife, Catherine Lopez on October 7, 1955. They were completely devoted to each other and shared their love and life together for over 69 years. As a loving husband and young father, Charles moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1962 for a new job at the test site and raised his family with his wife. Charles left a legacy behind survived by the love of his life: Catherine Lopez, five children Athena Lorinda Zuniga Charles Michael Lopez, Richard Eric Lopez, Lisa Janine Sexton and Raymond Edward Lopez, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and sister Mary Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his mom - Mary Louise Suarez, brother – Manual S. Perez and sister – Aurora Perez.

Full of love, laughter, and gentleness. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was always there when we needed him the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. He definitely was one of God's Angels on earth. Charles was a devoted Catholic his entire life. He volunteered in the Knights of Columbus for many years at St. Christophers Catholic Church and has remained a parishioner to date. He never missed mass, whether it was on the naval ship, church or in his home when he could no longer get around.

Charles brought warmth and love to everyone he met. He has a beautiful soul. Charles' family asks that he be remembered for the joy he brought into everyone's life.

To commemorate his beautiful journey and to celebrate the love he spread, a Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 Bruce St, North Las Vegas NV 89030 on February 13, 2025. The celebration will begin at 11:00 A.M. Following the Veterans Memorial Cemetary Service at 2:00 P.M. 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City NV 89005.
