Obituary

Cherie Lea Flory, age 70, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home in Pahrump, Nevada. Cherie was born on September 21, 1955, in Zweibrücken, Germany, to Jon Maxwell Currie and Leah Lauretta Currie. She grew up alongside her siblings George Harrington Currie, Amber Dawn Currie, Nikki Jo Currie, and Shawn Toland Currie. Cherie was married to Roger Flory, with whom she shared her life in Pahrump, Nevada. She was known for her many interests, including canning, sewing, gardening, caring for animals, poetry, and meticulous planning. A social and expressive soul, Cherie was never one to hold back her thoughts-she made herself known wherever she went and believed strongly in speaking her mind. In 2002, she received a poetry recognition award, a reflection of her creativity and voice. Cherie is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Flory of Pahrump, NV; Maxwell and Gina Flory of Show Low, AZ; Felicity Riley and Onyx Mewhorter of Fairview, MT; Taralou Hickman of Pahrump, NV; Joel Hall of Pahrump, NV; and her siblings George Harrington Currie, Amber Dawn Currie, Nikki Jo Currie, and Shawn Toland Currie. A celebration of life was held on January 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 100 W. Stagecoach Road, Pahrump, Nevada. Arrangements were handled by Care Cremation and Burial, Las Vegas, Nevada. Memorial donations of any kind are welcome and may be sent to 1420 Mickey Street, Pahrump, NV 89048. Packages or letters should be addressed to Roger D. Flory at that location. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Stage Stop Casino and to all who helped make the celebration of life possible. Your kindness and support have not been forgotten and never will be. "She may not have been rich in things, but she was rich in love, kindness, and care. She made a home wherever she went, freely giving of herself to everyone she met. An incredible mother, grandmother, and friend, her life of service and generosity leaves a legacy that will never fade."
