Cheryl Ann Takano, age 73, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cheryl was born August 8, 1949 in Hawaii, a daughter of Solomon and Ellen Bestamente Sanoria. In her working days, Cheryl was a secretary for BESSD, the Benefit Employment and Support Services Divisions, and DHS, the Department of Human Services. In retirement, she enjoyed serving her church as a volunteer at Christ the King Catholic Community, especially in the food pantry, helping with fundraisers, ushering and greeting parishioners before mass. She was noted to always be willing to help when asked and had a heart of service to her church and fellow parishioners. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Council. Cheryl loved to work out and being active. She loved baking, cooking, taking care of her friends, family and neighbors. She looked forward to visits to Kansas to visit her grandsons, especially at Christmas time. She is survived by two daughters, Cadena Laksis of Las Vegas, NV and Reina (Brian) Loomis of Overland Park, KS as a well as two grandsons, Evan (12) and Colin (10). She has three siblings, Darlene Hirano, Lawrence "Lento" (Sandy) Sanoria, and Betty (Leroy) Dikito as well as brother-in-law, Dennis Kapuras, all of Hawaii. She is predeceased by her parents and one sister, Marion Kapuras. Eulogies will be read at 10:15AM, with Mass at 11am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Community. A reception will immediately follow in the Community Center.
