Christopher Junichi
Zigler
Feb 11, 1971 — Mar 9, 2024
Christopher 'CJ' Junichi Zigler, 53, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Born on February 11, 1971, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, CJ was the beloved son of Clifford Zigler and the late Atsuko Hosoya Zigler. Growing up in the community of Westbury outside of Pittsburgh, CJ spent his childhood immersed in adventure, sports, and mischief. He attended Wilson Elementary and West Allegheny Jr and Sr High Schools, where he was known for his athleticism and daredevil antics. CJ was active in various sports, including baseball, basketball, football, track and field, street and ice hockey. His parents often found themselves in the emergency room due to his adventurous spirit. After graduating from West Allegheny High School, CJ pursued further education at the Community College of Allegheny County. Over the years, he held diverse roles, including serving as an EMT, 911 dispatcher, and most recently, as a cross country truck driver. He was a proud father and grandfather, treasuring every moment spent with his family. He was especially joyful for the celebrations with his children, Alex and Samantha, and his grandchildren, Bella and Aden, during this past year. CJ had a multitude of interests and hobbies, from riding motorcycles to spending time at the gun club with his father. He cherished moments spent playing video games with his nephew Xander, and going to movies, with Star Wars among his favorites. An avid traveler, CJ found joy in seeing the country from the driver's seat of his truck, all while enjoying his eclectic taste in music, especially classic rock. A published author under the pen name 'A.J. Stone,' CJ was known for his wit, humor, and ability to make friends wherever he went. CJ is survived by his loving children Samantha and Alexander 'Alex' Zigler, daughter-in-law Yvania Leon-Zigler, grandchildren Aurora 'Bella' and Aden Leon-Zigler, father Clifford Zigler, sister Christina Zigler, nephew Xander Zigler, brother in law Dennis Gorgolinski, beloved dogs Apollo and Nadia, and bird Sunny. He was predeceased by his mother, Atsuko Hosoya Zigler. A celebration of CJ's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The family expresses gratitude to all who supported CJ during his battle with pancreatic cancer, and for the outpouring of love and condolences received during this difficult time. In the words of an unknown author, 'When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.'
