Obituary

Mr. Clemmon Underwood was born on December 11, 1941 in Eutaw, Alabama. He was the 4th of six children born to the late Willie Mae (Harris) Underwood and Luvertus Underwood. Clemmon completed his education in Birmingham and later moved to Los Angeles, California. Clemmon Underwood was honorably discharged after serving 4 years of active service in the United States Army and several years of reserve service. Clemmon was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 20 years before he retired in 2002. Clemmon Underwood married Bienvenida (Garcia) Underwood on September 22, 1986, and they remained devoted to each other for 38 years. Bennie was a loving wife who cared for Clemmon with grace and love until his departure. Clemmon was the proud father to three children: LaToya Underwood, Girlie Mellough and Roven (Leslie) Sison and proud grandfather to Hailey, Jaden, Caleb, and Mitchell. He was an amazing father, dependable and gave the best advice. His smile would light up the room and his laugh was infectious. He was a great provider and his guidance was second to none. There are no words to describe just how amazing a father and man he was. Clemmon departed this life on Thursday June 6, 2024. He was preceded in death by brother Archie Underwood and sister Luvertus 'Tenchy' Mickles. Clemmon leaves to cherish his loving memory: devoted wife Bennie, daughters LaToya Underwood and Girlie Mellough, son Roven (Leslie) Sison, sister Mellow Bradley, sister Juanita Philips, brother Kerry Underwood and loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends...too numerous to mention. Clemmon was a lover of life and lived life to the fullest. He traveled the world. He impacted lives everywhere he went. We Salute you. And in the words of an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and man...Clemmon 'Bruh' Underwood... 'Ciao' We wish to acknowledge with our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation the outpouring of sympathy and warm consolation we have received from friends and family. Your acts of love and kindness have lifted our hearts. We extend a special thanks to you.-The Family
