Obituary

Clifford Allen Ensign

June 21, 1971 – June 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford “Allen” Ensign, 55, of Las Vegas, Nevada on June 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Allen was born on June 21,1971 in San Diego, California to parents Michael and Joanne Ensign. He was welcomed by his older sisters: Mikki, Ginger, and Kristene. When he was three years old, the family moved to Orcutt, California where he spent the remainder of his childhood. Here, Allen attended: Pine Grove Elementary School, Orcutt Junior High School, and finally Ernest Righetti High School, graduating in the year 1989. During his senior year, he was elected ASB Vice President. He also coined many nicknames during this time of his life, most notably “Butch”.

Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army. He spent time in Georgia, Germany and was a Gulf War Era veteran. After the Army, he met Amy Giambrone, a young romance that would reignite later in life. A few years later, he married his first wife Patricia, they were married for 11 years and had two children: Hailey Ensign (2001) and Jenna Ensign (2005). In 2007, Allen moved to Las Vegas with his family. Here, he started his career at Citibank. Over the next 16 years he built long lasting friendships while working as a Client Services Consultant as Assistant Vice President.

In 2010, his first wife and him parted ways, but a few years later in 2013 Amy Giambrone crossed paths with him again and they fell in love once more. They continued to love each other for 13 long and strong years all the way until the end. Allen didn’t just find a partner but became a beloved part of the family to Amy’s daughter, Samantha Kessler (Daniel Kessler) and became “Papa Allen” to Samantha’s 4 wonderful children: Bently, Daniel, Logen, and Skarlet.

Allen is survived by his beloved daughters, Hailey Ensign and Jenna Ensign; his mother, Joanne Ensign; his sisters, Mikki Ensign-Robinson, Ginger Ensign, and Kristene Ensign Roberson (Glenn); his loving partner, Amy Giambrone; Amy’s daughter, Samantha Kessler (Daniel), and their children, Bently, Daniel, Logen, and Skarlet; his nieces and nephews, Marissa Robinson, Susie Reed (Jason), Sara Morell (Max), and Chris Layton; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lexi, Izzy, Lillian, Jordan, Abigail, and Evelyn; and his faithful companion of 17 years, Rascal the cat.

Allen is welcomed by his father Michael Ensign (2010).

Allen was loved by many; his smile and laugh, his wit, and his radiance will be missed dearly.

A service to celebrate his life will be on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, at 10:30am at Care Cremation and Burial, 5070 S Arville St, #14, Las Vegas, NV 89118.

In honor of Allen’s love of sports, those who wish may also wear apparel for one of his favorite teams: the Lakers, Dodgers, or Rams or any favorite sports team that brings a smile in his honor.

A private family interment will also take place on Friday, July 17th, in Santa Maria, California.
