Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Willis on October 17th, at Summerlin Hospital in Summerlin, NV. Born on April 8th 1957, Cynthia was a beautiful soul, known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. Born and Raised in Chicago, IL, Cynthia graduated from Calumet High School before leaving to make a life in San Diego, CA, then eventually Seattle, WA. After many years in the Pacific Northwest, she moved to California. Loving the bright lights and big city, she made the move to Nevada. Cynthia's life was marked by her dedication to her family and friends. She was a loving mother, a devoted friend, and a cherished neighbor. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her. Cynthia was a dedicated Boeing employee for over 20 years in the Greater Seattle area, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues. Her commitment to her work was matched by her passion for cooking. Cynthia was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her famous Monkeybread, which was loved by all who had the pleasure of tasting it. She also had a deep love for old school music, which filled her home with joy and nostalgia. Cynthia always made sure everyone she met was treated like family. She would give her last dollar to help out and ensured everyone was treated fairly. She loved to have a great time, enjoy life, and smile, spreading joy wherever she went. Although she loved to stay home and watch soap operas, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hallmark movies, Cynthia had a true passion for trying to hit the jackpot on slot machines at the casino and eating out (even though she never ate the whole plate). Cynthia also worked as a chef at Red Lion, an employee at Sears, and at a domestic violence shelter. She was the automatic DJ at every party and event, always carrying her karaoke equipment wherever she went. Cynthia was a person who always did what she wanted, her way. She is survived by Son Dion Willis, Grandkids Javon, Justin, MaeLea, Toria and Jabari, Brothers Eric Willis & Family and James Bennett & Family, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as Sister/Best Friend Diedra Haley & Family. who will carry forward her memory and the values she instilled in them. Cynthia's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Memorial services will be held in Long Beach, CA, and Seattle, WA, with dates to be announced at a later time. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Cynthia's life and share their cherished memories. In lieu of messages and media, the family requests that donations be made to her GoFundMe page.
