The story of Americana Group began through relationships formed at Lee Wilder Real Estate School, where Mark taught pre licensing courses and developed connections with future partners Steve Schneider and Jack Woodcock. Together, they launched Americana Group Realtors after working at Jack Matthews & Associates, where Mark had already established himself as a talented leader, trainer, and manager.
Those who were part of the company's early years consistently point to Mark's ability to teach, motivate, and develop people as a driving force behind its rapid growth. By 1980, Americana Group Realtors had become the largest real estate company in Nevada.
Mark was widely recognized for his passion for education and professional development. He became a nationally known CRS instructor, teaching agents across the country and earning recognition throughout the industry for his ability to connect with and inspire others. He also believed strongly in giving back to the profession and served as President of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors in 1980.
Outside of real estate, Mark was known for his adventurous spirit, including his involvement with the Flying Elvis skydiving team featured in the 1992 film Honeymoon in Vegas. In 1993, a skydiving accident left Mark confined to a wheelchair. Yet by all accounts, he refused to allow the accident to define his life or diminish his outlook.
Over the years that followed, Mark continued motivating others through his resilience, determination, and optimism. He remained engaged with the real estate community, continued setting ambitious goals for himself, and accomplished many of them, including returning to golf, getting married, and even skydiving again years after his accident.
Throughout his life, Mark faced significant health challenges, but those closest to him often spoke about his determination, humor, and refusal to stop moving forward.
On May 12, 2026, Mark passed away after a long and courageous journey.
Today, we honor a husband, teacher, leader, and industry pioneer whose influence helped shape not only a company, but the careers and lives of countless people throughout the real estate community. His impact remains woven into the culture, leadership, and history of the organization he helped build.
On behalf of all of us at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties and HomeServices of America, we extend our deepest condolences to Mark's wife, Dawn, his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
Mark Miscevic lived fully, taught generously, and left a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.
