It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darus Jerome Lockheart, age 59, on November 22, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. Darus was born on December 19, 1964, in Wisconsin to the late Willie Lockheart and Iola Lockheart. Darus was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Lockheart of Nevada, and his children, Jonathan Bugarin of California, Tacora Lockheart, and Anthony Cross. He was also a proud grandfather to Anthony Cross II of Wisconsin, Nikki and Darrell Hill, and Nicolas Hill of Texas. Darus cherished family gatherings and enjoyed spending time outdoors, always surrounded by his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Robert Lockheart, Yolanda Lockheart, Willard Lockheart, Carlton Lockheart, Valerie Lockheart, and Lea L. Webb. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, including Robert Lockheart Jr., Lisa Lockheart, Marquesa Ewing, Wesley Smith, Brittany and Brandon Edwards, and many other family members who held him dear. In addition to his immediate family, Darus is survived by his in-laws, including Ronald Webb, Dolores Bugarin, Arnel Gaitan, Rosal B. and Lateef McIntosh, Myrna Bugarin, Mindy, Fontilla, Rina Respal, Michelle Sablan, Annelyn Bugarin, Demarione, Janiyah and Amelia Bugarin, as well as his cherished godchildren: Tammy Vawter, Jordan Ignacio, Jesmin Garado, and Sophie. Darus is preceded in death by his father Willie Lockheart, and in-laws Kathren Lockheart, Tony Bugarin, Alberta "Bing" Bugarin, and Leonardo Bugarin. Forever in our hearts, Darus will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to know him.
