David "Big Dave" Hughes, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday March 5, 2025. David was born on July 3, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Edwin and Beverly Hughes. During his career David worked in security, at the Nevada Test Site, and in the paint industry. In retirement he loved cheering on his favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers and Vegas Golden Knights, and spending time with his dog at the park. David is survived by his children, Melissa, Timothy, and David and their mother Betty Fleishman; grandchildren, Marissa, Garret, Addison, Clint, and Leah; sister, Cathy; and nephew Chris. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael. David loved celebrating his birthday with friends and family and had his biggest party yet for his 70th birthday. His family will keep this tradition going and will be hosting a celebration this summer to honor his life and legacy.
