Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of David Kitchen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather (Pop), brother, uncle, and dear friend to so many. David passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 68, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 13, 1956, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Albert and Junette Kitchen. His early years were spent growing up in Highland, Indiana before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in June 1982 where he made his home until his passing. David was known by his many friends as Dave, Kitch and Ching throughout the years. As those have reached out have reminded us with a true friend and compassionate person he truly was, always willing to lend a hand and help. As a business owner for 35+ years, Dave met and developed so many lasting connections and friendships along the way before retiring in September 2021. He loved his family and was always so generous and thoughtful with his friends. He was so much more concerned about others than himself, leaving a lasting impression to all who knew him. David lived life his own way and had a knack for making friends wherever he went. To say David had a passion for sports and was an avid golfer is putting it mildly, but his devotion to the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears never wavered, being a diehard fan for many years. David is survived by his beloved wife Diane, to whom he was married for 48 years. They were blessed to have two children, Angie Kitchen and Eric (Jamie) Kitchen, along with his grandchildren Kooper, Kolt, Khloe, Kruz and Kenzie; step-grandchildren Cyson, KeaKoa, and Rebecca; siblings Patty (Gary) of Port Charlotte, FL, twin brother Dan (Cindy) of Las Vegas, NV, and brother Richard (April) of Highland, IN; as well as many nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his parents Albert and Junette, and nieces Teresa and Krystal. A celebration of life will be planned at a future date in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, our family is asking for you please donate in David's name to the charity of your choice. David is going to be missed by many; however, his love and compassion for his family and friends will live on in our hearts forever.
