Delano Esquiel
Garcia
Mar 30, 1944 — Oct 29, 2026
Delano Garcia, beloved husband, father, brother, relative, and friend, passed away on October 29, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 82.
Born on March 30, 1944, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Delano was the son of the late Severino and Amelia Garcia. He was raised alongside his siblings, including his older brother, Mariano, and older sisters, Mary Lee and Esther, as well as his younger sister, Patricia.
In 1965, Delano made the move to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he would make his home for more than 60 years. It was there that he began building a career in the casino industry, starting from the ground up as a porter and eventually working his way to becoming a blackjack dealer. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Delano built a career and a life in the city he called home.
One of the greatest joys of Delano's life was his family. He shared more than 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Prescilla Garcia. Together, they built a life filled with love, memories, and family. He was also a proud father to his son, Sergio Garcia, who resides in Los Angeles and has established himself as a prominent modeling agent. His love and devotion to his family were an important part of who he was.
Delano had a zest for life and an appreciation for the things that brought him joy. He loved classic cars, attending live boxing matches, telling jokes, and, most of all, laughing. He had a gift for making people smile and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Everywhere he went, he seemed to make a friend. His humor, warmth, and outgoing personality left a lasting impression on the many people fortunate enough to know him.
Delano will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his friendships, and the countless memories he created throughout his life. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Severino and Amelia Garcia; his brother, Mariano Garcia; his sister, Mary Lee Dailey, and his first son, Dee, who passed tragically in a car accident at only 18 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Prescilla Garcia; his son, Sergio Garcia; his sisters, Esther and Patricia; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though Delano may no longer be with us, the laughter he shared, the friendships he made, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He will be missed tremendously, but never forgotten.
Memorial services will be held in the summer of 2027 in New Mexico. Details will be announced at a later date.
