Diane Gillespie, 80, died peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, with family by her side. 

Born on May 30, 1946, in Mount Vernon, New York, Diane was the daughter of Anne and George Hamilton. She and her former husband, Patrick Gillespie (d. 2010), had one child; daughter, Heather. She is also survived by her brother, George Hamilton Jr.; her sister-in-law, Judy Hamilton; and her niece, Elizabeth Koch.

Diane devoted her life to her family and to education. She spent decades teaching throughout the United States and, later in life, founded and operated a successful tutoring company. Her work reflected a lifelong dedication to learning and to the students and families she served. 

Strong, intelligent, and quick-witted, Diane enjoyed travel, good food, and had a special affection for animals, particularly cats. Above all, she loved and cherished her daughter.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff of Nathan Adelson Hospice- Tenaya, for their compassionate care and support during Diane’s final weeks.

Family will honor and celebrate Diane’s life privately. Arrangements are being handled by Care Cremation & Burial, Las Vegas.
