Gone to Heaven D'Lynda (Dee) Suhr. Dee succumbed due to complications from liver surgeries.
Daughter of Derell and Barb Suhr
Dee started using the Suhr name right away. The teacher said no, your name is still Brancucci. And her answer was" we married him didn't we." Derell officially adopted her on 12-11-79 so she could graduate high school with the name she had used since they got married.
She enjoyed life, always happy, even in the tough times. Friendly, giving, and so good with kids of all ages. Dee always made you smile; you never knew what she would do next. Great friend and mentor, she will be missed by all who loved and knew her. We will always remember her.
Dee's favorite job was teaching. She taught in Los Angeles, Calif. at a correctional facility. She was told she couldn't hang pictures in the hall because they would get torn down. No, the kids liked Miss Suhr, and the pictures stayed up until she took them down.
Dee taught at Rozet elementary school and where she also coached the 5th and 6th grade boys' basketball team.
She is survived by her brothers, Jim (Marty) Brancucci, Richard Suhr, and sisters, Susan (Ward) Kiplinger, Carolyn (Butch) Williams, Margaret (Dave) Taylor, Pat Suhr, Susan Lowe, and Sister-in-law, Mary Suhr.
She is also survived by her partner Sharon Johnson and her family, Gia, Chrissy, Scott, Parker and Michael Jahn, and sister-in-law, Shirley DeFrancesco.
Dee is preceded in death by parents Derell and Barb Suhr, brother Frank Suhr, sister Roxie Brancucci, plus several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Dee's Life will be held at the Upton Community Center at 916 Ash St, Upton, WY on Sunday April 13, 2025, from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. There will be a luncheon.
