Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dominga Parmisano Morrell, aged 83, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on August 4, 1941, in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, Dominga was the daughter of Rafael and Leonarda Parmisano, both of whom predeceased her.
Dominga led a remarkable life, dedicated to her family, faith, and education. She earned a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. After her studies, Dominga worked with the U.S. Peace Corps Health Group in Cebu City, where she taught the Visayan language. She also worked at the U.S. Post Office in Tonopah, Nevada, and spent her later years in North Las Vegas working in daycare and childcare services, making a lasting impact on the lives of many.
In January 1982, Dominga married the love of her life, Dennis Morrell, in her hometown of Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and shared joy. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis, and their daughter, Deanna Morrell. Dominga also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Melchora Fajardo, Lourdes Peguit, Neciforo Parmisano, Nazario Parmisano, and Nabor Parmisano. She was predeceased by her parents, Rafael Parmisano (June 26, 1980) and Leonarda Parmisano (September 27, 2008).
Dominga was a faithful member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Philippine Bisayan Society of Nevada, where she also served as the Group Public Relations Officer. Her passions included reading, crossword puzzles, and collecting coins and stamps. She had a fondness for watching Merlin and James Bond movies, and she enjoyed attending picnics and dances with friends and family, always bringing her bright spirit and warmth.
Dominga's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her gentle nature, sense of humor, and the loving way she cared for those around her will always be remembered. She faced life's challenges with courage, and her favorite quote by Helen Keller, "Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears," encapsulated her faith and strength.
