Obituary

Douglas Richard "Doug" Ward, age 71, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Born on October 20, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey, Doug was the beloved son of the late James and Frances Ward.

A graduate of Susquehanna University, Doug was known for his warm sense of humor, his kind spirit, and his love of music—especially his talent for playing the bagpipes. He married the love of his life, Barbara, in 1981 in New Providence, New Jersey, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Ward of Henderson; his loving daughters, Shannon (Angelo) Mastrio and Jenna (Peter) Alder; and his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Mastrio, Cameron Mastrio, and Brayden Alder. He is also survived by his sister Frances Ward of New Jersey; his brother James Ward of New Jersey; his niece Jennifer Farrell of New Jersey; and his nephew David Farrell of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Ward.

Doug will be remembered for his humor, compassion, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
