Edward (Ed) Michael Gaines (79) passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023. Born July 20, 1944, to Sadie and Irving Gaines, he lived his young life in Yonkers, NY with his three siblings Gary, Marion and Susan. He married his first wife, Judy, at the young age of 21, and they had two children, Roger Gaines and Shari Gaines Eisemann. After marrying his second wife, Marsha (Micki) Carness, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in the 1990's. Marsha (Micki) predeceased Ed in October 2022. He was a loving husband and was devoted to caring for her as her health was declining the past couple of years. Ed graduated from New York University with a degree in Business Administration. After the sudden death of his father, he stepped in to help his mother with the family's handbag manufacturing company. Ed's most recent business was selling Sparkle Jewelry cleaner at the Swap Meet in Las Vegas, where he truly enjoyed assisting and chatting with his customers. Ed's passion was rock music of the 50s, especially the music of Elvis Presley. He recorded a few songs of his own in his teenage years. He is survived by his two children Roger Gaines (wife Maria Gaines), Shari Gaines Eisemann (husband Mike Eisemann); his three grandchildren, Dakota Granados, Diego Arias, and Austin Gaines; three step children; Jodi Carness, Larry Carness and Kenneth Carness, and his two sisters, Marion DeCoudreaux and Susan Zohar-Noam (husband Elias Noam). He is predeceased by his brother, Gary Gaines. His wishes were to donate his organs to medical science, to be cremated, and to have his ashes dispersed at Yankee Stadium. Edward's family would like to thank Lizette and Harry Harvey Jr (J.R), Ed's dedicated friends, who did their utmost to fulfill Ed's wishes of being cared for in his home, during his final months.
