Obituary

Edward grant hill, lovingly known as "Bunky", was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on June 29, 1936, and passed away peacefully at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Grant is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Dianalee, whom he married on November 5, 1976. Grant had two children from a previous marriage: Stephen Edward and Vandy Parker, both of whom reside in California. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Michael J. Hill and Jennifer Patton, and Jennifer's husband, Robert Patton, all of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the son of Robert B and Fern Hill of Grand Junction, Colorado. Grant is survived by his sister Kathleen Hill-Underwood-Stark and her husband Gary of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sisters Robin and Marion. He leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, four nephews, three nieces, their families, and many cousins and dear friends. Grant attended Mesa College in Grand Junction before graduating from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later earned his Master of Engineering. An inventive and hands-on problem solver, Grant traveled to many countries-including Japan, Germany, and Switzerland-throughout his career. He designed and built numerous projects and earned several patents, including one for a machine that mass-produced contact lenses. He had a remarkable gift for turning ideas into innovative, workable designs. Throughout their life together, Grant and Dianalee lived in several cities, including Simi Valley and San Diego, California; Roswell, Georgia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Livermore, California. They eventually made their home in Las Vegas, where Grant retired from Mission Support Control. Grant enjoyed building projects for the home, playing golf, and baking his famous cinnamon rolls and sugar cookies. In later years, he took pleasure in working on puzzles and watching golf and football. A man of faith, Grant was a Christian who believed in life after death and the promise of peace beyond this world. Those who love him imagine him in Heaven-perhaps already redesigning the pearly gates. Grant will be deeply missed and forever cherished-especially by his beloved wife, Dianalee Hill.
