Known for her love of family, community service, intelligence and quick wit, Ellen Neafsey Jobes passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026 at age 92. Ellen was born in Homestead Florida, to John Patrick Neafsey and Nellie Christen.

She was the eldest of nine children. After graduating the University of Miami, she became a teacher. In the early 1960s, she moved to Las Vegas where she continued her love of teaching and volunteered throughout the community. Ellen is survived by her brother John Neafsey (Linda) sisters, Gail Miller and Katie Neafsey, her daughter Sharon Kishner; (granddaughters Rachael, Risa), her daughter Hon. Joanna Kishner; (grandson Josh, granddaughter Jillian) and her son Dr. John Jobes; (Reenie) (grandsons Preston, Coulson, granddaughter Kennedy).

Services will be private in Florida. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to an animal rescue or your charity of choice.
