Obituary

Enrico (Ricky) James Gregory was born in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1963, to his parents Wanda Mae Gregory and John Jordan.

He was an energetic and curious child who enjoyed making friends and having a great time with those friends. Ricky loved testing boundaries but always with the thought of it all being done in fun. He was kindhearted and generous, and he always wanted to be the life of the party, while being totally chill.

Ricky grew up in a South-Central Los Angeles and attended Woodcrest Elementary. For middle school he entered the Permit with Transportation program of LAUSD and attended Robert Fulton Jr. High in Van Nuys and moved on to Van Nuys Sr. High and graduated in 1981.

At the age of 19, on November 16, 1982, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for more than 7 years mostly deployed to the European arena. Upon leaving the United States Army Ricky received a Honorable Discharge, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal 2D AWD and Marksman badge with M16 Rifle bar While in the Army he met and married Gail D. Miller and they settled in Pottsville Penn. Their union produced two children Enrico Jr and Xavier. Years later they divorced. Ricky moved back to Los Angeles, California where he had two more children Caleb Rogers and Jordan Gregory.

Ricky was the kind of person who had to stay busy all the time, that's why he worked various jobs, his favorites were The Wilshire Terrace and Sony Pictures, but he loved being a cross country truck driver where he got to see the world.

When his mother became seriously ill, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to assist with her care before her passing.

Eventually his health began to fail after many years of complications from injuries acquired while serving in the military and diabetes, but he never complained about the pain that he was in; he just smiled and remembered a quote that his mother would use 'it's all mind over matter'!

Sadly, he died Wednesday February 21, 2024, at 2:30 AM in Las Vegas Nevada at the age of 60. A loved man, son, brother, and father who will truly be missed.
