Eugene Knox, age 70, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025 at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Born on December 16, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Eugene was the beloved son of Edward Knox and Geneva Knox (Driver). He was raised in Chicago, where he attended Wendell Phillips Academy and formed lifelong friendships and memories that shaped the man he became.
Eugene had a dedicated career as a ramp agent with United Airlines, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Eugene's was known as the life of the party, he was a natural jokester whose laughter and humor created unforgettable moments for family and friends alike.
Above all, Eugene was a family man. He loved his family deeply and took great pride in being present, supportive, and engaged when he could. With no more pain, he has taken flight to see his Father.
He is survived by his children, Eugene Verdell Bowman, Katrina Love, and Geneva Dean; his cherished grandchildren, Marsean, Zach, and Jordyn; his brother, Ozzie Johnican; and his many nieces-Marcella, Mariah, Geneva, Ashley, Gabriella, Wanda, Priscilla, and Kimberly-and his nephew, Darnell. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, loved ones, and friends who will deeply miss his presence, kindness, and humor.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Knox and Geneva Knox (Driver), as well as his sisters, Dorothy and Renia. Their memories, along with Eugene's own lasting legacy, continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service will be held in Chicago, Illinois, with the date to be determined. Additional details will be shared at a later time.
