Flora Valencia Miguel, 81, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 28th, 2026 at St Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend; Flora touched the lives of many with her wisdom, humor and unwavering desire to help others.
Born in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines to Segundo and Jean Valencia. Her father, Segundo, was a music conductor and she accompanied him in his extensive travels for much of her childhood. She graduated from the National University, Manila with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She met her husband, Rizalino Miguel, through his youngest sister, Amelita, and they were married on December 24, 1970 at St. Loreto Church in Sampaloc, Manila. They emigrated from the Philippines to the U.S. in 1973. Gaining certification as a CNA, she worked for almost 40 years in hospitals both in Illinois and Nevada. She had an abiding love of prayer and attended church and prayer groups regularly.
Flora is preceded in death by Rizalino, her beloved husband of 47 years.
Flora is survived by her children Rowell (Lyza), Jaymie (Stacey), and Steven; and her beloved grandchildren Sabrina and Jacob. Flora leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, the 20th of May, 11 AM, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church (130 N Pecos Rd, Henderson, NV 89074).
