With heavy hearts, we announce that Fran Matthews passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 19, 2026, at the age of 86.

Raised in New York and later living in Southern California, Las Vegas, and Boise, Franultimately returned to Las Vegas, the city she proudly called home.

To know Fran was to know an amazing woman. Fran carried herself with grace, quiet strength, warmth, and compassion. She had a beautiful smile, an unforgettable laugh, and a timeless sense of style that reflected who she was. She loved people, and everyone fortunate enough to know her felt it. She had a way of making others feel welcome, valued, and that they truly mattered.

The people in Fran's life were her world. She shared 44 wonderful and loving years of marriage with her husband, Tim Matthews, and treasured the close bond she shared with her children, Phil and Debbie. She was an incredible mother and friend to them and adored her grandchildren, Kellie and Keri Ann. She remained deeply connected to her close-knit family and lifelong friends, no matter the miles between them, especially her beloved sister and best friend, Janie; Janie's husband, Lloyd; her nephews, Ricky and Ken; and Ken's husband, Jhani, who also held a special place in her heart. Whether playing mah-jongg with her ladies, loving on her cats, or spending quiet time at home, she found joy in life's simple moments.

Although Alzheimer's gradually stole many of Fran's memories, it never diminished the impact she had on those around her. Throughout her illness, she was surrounded by the unwavering support of her family. She will be remembered not for Alzheimer's, but for the beautiful life she lived, the woman she was, and the love she gave. She is gone, but never forgotten. Deeply missed and forever loved.

Fran is survived by her husband, Tim; her daughter, Debbie; her granddaughter, Kellie; her great-grandson, Hudson; her nephew, Ken and his husband, Jhani; and her brother-in-law, Lloyd.

She was preceded in death by her son, Phil; her granddaughter, Keri Ann; her nephew, Ricky; her sister, Janie; her parents, “Grandma Rae and Papa Manny”; and many cherished family members and dear friends.

A private family service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home on August 1st.
