Obituary

Frank Robert Luis, lovingly known as “Honey Boy" or "Franco,” passed away on August 7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 71.

Frank was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, in Kalihi Valley. Hawai’i was and will always be his home, and his final wish was to return to Oʻahu to be honored and laid to rest among the people and community he loved.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Luis; his mother, Socorro Luis (Sagolili); and his sister, Shannon Luis.

He is survived by his brothers, Anthony, Michael, and Longy; his sister Lisa, her husband Stephen, and their daughter Dana; and Shannon’s children, Puna and Kaui.

Frank was the proud father of four children: Justin, Michael, Jennifer, but most importantly Nick (Nicole Justine Luis Lopez).

He was also a grandfather to Justin Jr., Nicolas, Fernando (Lopes), Gabriella, Kehlani, Anabella, and Brock. His family will forever carry his love and spirit in their hearts.

Frank touched many lives throughout his 71 years. He will be remembered for the love he shared, the life he lived, and the lasting memories he created with his family, friends, and community.

In accordance with his final wishes, Frank was cremated in Las Vegas and will be brought home to Hawaiʻi. Our family and friends will gather on Oʻahu at a later date to honor his life, celebrate, talk story and remember all the good times with a final goodbye of spreading his ashes.

A hui hou, Honey Boy

Details regarding his celebration of life will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.

Memorial donations to assist the family with Franks cremated remains transported home to Hawaiʻi and celebration-of-life expenses are deeply appreciated. Donation information will be shared with family and friends.

Dad, your final words will remain in my heart forever:

“I love you more.”
