Gary Joseph Perrin, 64, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on December 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 31, 1960, in Holyoke, MA, to Claire (Goudreau) Perrin Bukowski.

He graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School in 1978, and later earned an associate degree from Worcester State Community College. Gary was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for four years. After a long and fulfilling career, Gary retired from UPS after 29 years of dedicated service. He also worked as an Assistant to the Dean of Students and as a football coach at Goffstown High School in New Hampshire. In his later years, he worked as a driver at the Maher Center in Middletown, RI, until his passing.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Gary was an avid New England Patriots fan and loved coaching football. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching Patriots games on Sundays, often with his dog Sophie by his side. In addition to his love of football, Gary cherished vacations with family and friends in the Caribbean, cooking delicious meals, making jokes, and spending time with those he loved.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Laura Perrin, and their daughter, Maggie Perrin; sister, Patricia Swanson; brother-in-law, Sven Swanson; nieces, Erika (goddaughter) Sara, Nicole, Nadine; nephew, Scott; and his beloved dog, Sophie. Gary was predeceased by his mother, Claire (Goudreau) Perrin Bukowski.

A memorial service will be held at the Newport Harbor Island Resort, 1 Goat Island, Newport, RI, on January 4th, 2025. The service will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a luncheon from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
