Gayle Lynne
Shaw
Aug 25, 1955 — May 29, 2024
With loved ones by her side, Gayle Lynne Shaw passed away at her home in Henderson, NV, on Wednesday morning, May 29, 2024. Gayle had lost her battle with cancer and her pain was being managed under the direction of Nathan Adelson hospice care. Gayle was born in Newport Beach, California on August 25, 1955 to parents Delvin H. Shaw and Margaret Helen Shaw. She had one brother, Larry Shaw. She was a fiercely independent woman who was often found fixing up her home and working on projects outdoors in her swimsuit during the summer, or snowsuit in the winter. She loved boating at Lake Mead, and making friends at Calville Bay Yacht Club. She enjoyed learning line dances and going line dancing in western wear. Gayle loved to dress up and could be found at any themed event or costume party. She traveled frequently and saw much of the world during her long career as a flight attendant, she particularly enjoyed visiting Hawaii and swimming or scuba diving in the ocean. Gayle could often be found at home with a pile of coins and magnifying glass on the hunt for a valuable misprint. She loved furry animals and was every pet's favorite person. Gayle was generous and helpful. Constantly offering help with projects or bringing an item she had collected just waiting for someone who could use it. She frequented In-N-Out Burger to order a double-double with onion cut in half, a fry well done, and a cup of ice for her Cherry Dr Pepper. As well as a lunch order for anyone else who was around. She was preceded in death by her parents Delvin (1920-2002), Margaret (1922-1996), and brother Larry (1947-2019). She is survived by many friends who love her, her niece (Tammi Rodgers) and nephew (Eric Shaw), as well as her three cats. Gayle was a very private person and didn't tell many about her medical complications. Though it came sooner than expected, by knowing the end was near, she was able to communicate her wishes. She requested cremation and no memorial service. Thank you to those who have been part of her life. Enjoy a pint of Ben and Jerry's in her honor. If you have any stories, memories, or photos you would like to share on her behalf you can share them to her Facebook wall.
