Obituary

The beautiful sun has at last set on our dear brother, cousin, uncle, friend - George (Dickie) Richard Klette, who passed away peacefully at home in Las Vegas at 10.30 pm Wed September 3 but was pronounced dead at 12.06 am September 4. His passing comes one week after entering home hospice during which time he was flooded with love from a whole parade of visitors and phone calls. He died in peace without pain and now joins his wife Sharon, his parents and his many wonderful dogs on the other side of that mysterious heavenly curtain. George was born February 19, 1952 in Cincinnati. After his high school years, he found his footing in the Air Force were he served 2 terms in the 1970s at Nellis Air Force base. From there he established his life in Las Vegas where he developed a 2nd family of close friends and relatives of Sharon. Special call out goes to his surviving Vegas family - Carolyn, Tyson, Destry, Cameron, Stephen, Gail, Karen, Carl, Jack, Russ, Deana, John, Colleen and all their families plus the many other friends that are too many to mention here. May he rest in heavenly peace. With love, his brother Jack/Jake and wife Svetlana who will be bringing his beloved dog Roxy back to Ohio with them. On behalf of George's blood family - sisters Cindy, Jill his uncle Roger (Phyllis), 20 cousins and 11 nieces and nephews, thank you for the memories and for your service George. Off you go into the wide blue yonder, off you go into the sky. Fly high ... Fly high ... Fly high. George will be cremated and his ashes ultimately spread at the Beaverhead River in Dillon, Montana where Sharon and some of his dogs rest now. Arrangements will be shared at a later date. Roxy, his 6 year old beagle, doberman, hound dog mix is adjusting. Dogs need to mourn too. She laid next to him this last week in bed and went almost comatose herself when he passed. But the funeral men let her sniff and say goodbye to him before he was wheeled out. She wouldn't return to his bedroom after that. Last night for the first time she came to me and climbed up in our bed and slept. This morning she was laying in his chair but later came back to our bed. I think she will be alright. That's what we told George all week ... Roxy would be loved.
