Gerald (Gerry) James Clark, 67, of Henderson NV and Birmingham, MI, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on September 16, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gerry was born July 26, 1959 in Queens, NY, to Robert Frank Clark and Dorothy Lois Scadden Clark, attended New Hyde Park Memorial High School, Class of 1977 and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1989. He married Holly Sue Heiss on July 28, 1990 in Mansfield, Ohio.

Gerry retired from General Motors after 33 years, most recently as the Global Technical Specialist of Cam and Valvetrain analysis. He was a patient teacher and mentor to many young engineers at GM. He enjoyed woodworking; his wife’s and children’s homes are filled with his creations. He was the mixologist, grill master, and host at many a party. He volunteered as a design judge for Formula SAE competitions for years, providing feedback and advice while judging the students’ entries. He enjoyed car shows and any kind of motorsports. He was generous and kind to all.

Gerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Holly Sue Heiss of Henderson, NV; his sons Evan Hunter Heiss (Rachel) and Nash Bower Clark (Brian Sewel), and granddaughter Marlowe Jane Heiss, all of Los Angeles, CA; his brothers Robert Frank Clark, Jr. (Phyllis) and Gary George Clark (Susan); his brothers-in-laws Eric Jay Heiss (Cassandra) and Drew Guy Heiss (Maura); his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and former co-workers in Michigan and across the globe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Clark, his in-laws H. Neil and Donna Heiss, his sister, Lois Ann Clark Flinn, and brother-in-law Malcolm Andrew Flinn.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
