Obituary

Harry E. Johns, 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Harry was born May 12, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Harry and Martha Johns. He had one sister, Mary Jane Kesner. He attended South High School, graduating in 1962. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Rae Carrigan on June 9th, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio. Harry was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. Harry was a devote Roman Catholic and had been employed as a Firefighter until his retirement in 1996. He was a Firefighter for the Boardman, Ohio Fire Department and received the Safe Driver Award fifteen times. Harry loved football and traveling. He was a proud 4th degree Knight of Columbus and was inducted into their hall of fame. Harry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who always wanted to help people and always had more than one job. He is predeceased by his parents and sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Johns, as well as two children, son Michael Johns, and daughter Lisa Miller, all of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Chelsea Tiberio of Raleigh, NC, and Amanda Miller of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral mass is scheduled for 11am on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89128. Burial will take place on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1pm at Palm Boulder Highway Cemetery, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, Nevada 89015.
