Howard Lee Bishop passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026 in Henderson Nevada at the age of 79. He was born May 28, 1947 in Whittier California to Macon and Mildred Bishop. Howard grew up in Grant's Pass, Oregon and attended Rogue River High School before being enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly and courageously serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. He married Valerie Bishop on February 14, 1976 and was happily married for 50 years. Howard continued his service to community by working for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department bravely for 39 years. Howard loved Lionel Trains and flying his R/C planes. He adored going camping in his RV with family and friends. From Boatnik in Grant's Pass, Oregon to traveling down the coast of California on the beautiful 101 Freeway, if there was a campground, Howard would find it. He also had a passion for drag racing. Racing his own 1969 Chevy Camaro at Lions Drag Strip and watching NHRA drag racing in Pomona California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Howard cherished his pug Roxie and his two previous pugs, Slider and Player.He loved his dogs. Howard is survived by his wife Valerie, his son Mike, and daughter in law Susan from Henderson Nevada. Howard will Rest in peace at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. May he live in paradise with God for eternity.
