Obituary

James Burl Hosmer, born in Salt Lake City on January 24, 1950, was a guiding light to all who knew him. On July 3, 2025, he quietly passed away leaving behind a legacy of courage, faith, and unwavering love. James proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1973, where he bravely fought on the front lines during the Vietnam War. He was wounded in action and honored with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his valor and dedication. On December 13, 1973, James married the love of his life, Donna. That day, he not only gained a wife but also a daughter Susan, beginning a journey of nearly 52 years filled with devotion, laughter, and family. Together, they welcomed two sons Jay and David. Their lives built in a life rooted in faith and service. A pillar of the Henderson community, James served as a Reverend at Living Water Ministry, offering spiritual guidance and compassion to all who crossed his path. His presence was a source of strength and comfort, and his commitment to his faith never wavered. James was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Colleen Hosmer, and his brother, Buster. He is survived by his beloved wife Donna; his children Jay, David, and Susan; his daughter-in-law Vikki; eight cherished grandchildren; and his first great-granddaughter, soon to arrive. He also leaves behind his sister Debra and a host of extended family and dear friends who will carry his memory forward. As James often said, "Place your faith in the Lord and he will guide you." His story, marked by honor, love, and grace, will continue to inspire all who knew him. Please join our family in celebrating James's life on Wednesday, August 20th at 12:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, NV. 89005
