Jill Drysdale Russell, originally from Torrance, California, passed away on February 4, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was 69 years old.
Jill was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. From the moment you met her, you felt seen, valued, and genuinely welcomed. She had a rare and beautiful gift for making people feel special, offering her love freely and wholeheartedly. Thoughtful in every way, Jill always put others before herself and made sure no one ever felt alone.
She was full of life-fun, fiery, and strong-willed-with a beautiful spirit that shined through her contagious smile. Her laughter could light up any room, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went. Jill found joy in life's simple pleasures: long days at the beach, cozy movie nights, and sharing good food surrounded by the people she loved most.
Family was the center of Jill's world. She was the heart of her family, always caring for everyone and doing whatever she could to ensure they felt happy, supported, and loved. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. She gave her grandchildren unconditional love, guidance, and endless devotion. Her great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in spoiling them and cherishing their smiles. Her family will fondly remember that Jill never forgot a birthday-she kept track of dozens of family and friends' special days, always making them feel remembered and loved.
Jill was born on September 22, 1956, in Torrance, California. Following high school, she spent several years working as a pharmacy technician before dedicating many years as a registrar at Canterbury Career Schools, Nevada Career Institute, The Academy of Healing Arts, and Milan Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was married to Kevin B. Russell, who preceded her in death in 1993.
Jill is survived by her children: Lisa A. Wise, Julie L. Rose (Mike Rose) Michael L. Russell (Willian Moreira). She is also survived by her brothers, David L. Drysdale (Luciene Drysdale) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daniel L. Drysdale (Rhonda Drysdale) of Rexburg, Idaho.
