Obituary

John R. Flinn, 61 of Las Vegas, NV, suddenly passed away on January 10, 2025, of natural causes. John was born to George and Joan (deceased) Flinn of Chicago, IL, in 1963. John resided in IL until 2004, when he and his family moved from Lake In The Hills, IL, to Las Vegas, NV, where he was employed with Navarro Research & Engineering as a Project Manager, spanning 20 years. Anyone who knew John described him as "the nicest person they ever met." He was truly dedicated to his family and their well-being. He was generous, kind, intelligent, always went the extra mile for his loved ones, and loved to make people laugh with his amazing sense of humor. John had a passion for cooking and sports. On Sundays, you would find him in the kitchen cooking up an amazing dinner. His favorite television show was Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. During football season, John loved to run the family Fantasy Football league. John is survived by his large and loving family, beginning with his son, Scott (Marta) Flinn; grandpups, Tate, Emma, and Clark; stepson, James Palait (ex-wife, Mary); his father, George Flinn; siblings, Laura (Rich) Sullivan, George (Mary) Flinn Jr., Terri (Tom) Kolner, Diane (Dave) Conrad, Tom Flinn, and Karyn (Chris) Thompson; along with his many nieces and nephews who brought so much joy to his life: Brian, Jason, Jenny; Michelle, George III, Erin, Joshua, Mike, Ashleigh; T.K., Colleen, Karyn, Jon; Dave, Kelli; Taylor; Harley and Reese. Plus an ever-growing number of grandnieces and grandnephews. John is preceded into heaven by his mother, Joan Flinn; brother-in-law, Richard Sullivan; and his ex-in-laws, Buster and Rosalie Romano.
