John Jerome Jablonski, born August 19, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Henderson, Nevada.
He was born to John Jablonski and Lucy Kelm and grew up alongside his sister, Angie.
John dedicated his life to public service and the protection of others. He served for 32 years as a police officer, including as Chief of Police in the Village of Hamburg, New York, from 1966 until his retirement in 1998. He earned the respect and trust of both his fellow officers and the community and was committed to professionalism in policing, believing strongly in building a disciplined and respected department.
John was previously married to Kathryn, with whom he shared his greatest pride-his sons, John Jablonski and Jeffrey Jablonski.
John was the husband of the late Tina Louise Lovelin. Together they shared time in Las Vegas and Vancouver, Washington, building a life filled with companionship and connection with family and friends. He is also survived by her children, David, Jennifer, and Brian, and their families.
He is survived by his sons, John and Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Colin, Bridget, Jenna, Jack, and Matthew; as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Jablonski and Lucy Kelm.
