Heaven gained a special guardian angel when John Richard Schmidt, age 65, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 8:10am. John was born October 8, 1957 in Lorain, Ohio, a son of Mary and Richard Schmidt. He spent his young adult life in California, with his first wife, Teresa, with whom he shared his only child, Robyn. In 1992, John relocated to Las Vegas, NV, where he married the love of his life, Kathleen on January 16, 1997. John was a well respected salesman, and an expert in many industries. John loved spending time with his grandchildren, and especially loved cheering on his oldest granddaughter, Ryleigh Ann, on the soccer field. Throughout the last three years, John survived multiple extensive abdominal surgeries, as well as numerous illnesses that would have taken a lesser man ten times over, John proved to the world how much of a fighter he truly was. His will and his dedication to his wife and daughter, are what kept him pushing until his very last moments. John proved his strength, his positivity, and his bravery to all those around him, and he instilled those values in the ones he loved. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Ann Schmidt and daughter, Robyn Reynon, and his three grandchildren, Ryleigh, Ronald, and Raelani, as well as his sisters, Jane and Frankie, and countless other family members and friends. There will never be a day that goes by that he won't be dearly missed. The battle is over, John, it's time to go home and rest.
