Judith Cavaretta
Mccardell
Oct 3, 1945 — Feb 15, 2024
'We are more because we knew her; we are less because she's gone.' - Tim
Judith C. McCardell, (Judy, Judith Anne, Gigi), loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at age 78 on 02/15/2024 with her husband Tim by her side and surrounded by her family. Judy will be deeply missed by her friends and her family. Her soul was one of a kind and she did her best to spread love, joy and happiness to those around her. She was an angel on earth to us all.
Judy was born to Vincent John Cavaretta and Rebecca Anne Fox Richardson on 10/03/1945 in Buffalo, NY. She is survived by her husband H. Timothy McCardell; daughters Traci McCardell Human (Bryan K. Human) and Kimberly D. McCardell; son Timothy E. McCardell (Jolene McCardell); grandsons Bryan T. Human, Christopher K. Human (Jessica DePaula Human), Michael P. McCardell and Jacob Spath and granddaughter Chelsea Spath; great granddaughter Scarlett Rose DePaula Human; sisters Candace Cavaretta Yuman, Maureen Cavaretta Johannson, Marleen Cavaretta, Terry Caveretta-St. Jules; and brother Jimmy Cavaretta. She is preceded in death by brother Todd Cavaretta.
Judy and Tim met and fell in love in 1961 at Treasure Island, St. Petersburg, Florida where she attended Boca Ciega High School. For the next 62 years they would always be by each other's side. They were married at St. John's Church at St. Petersburg Beach on 01/13/1962 and the next few years would find the young couple traveling to California, Arizona, Michigan, and Taiwan adding Traci, Kim and Tim to the family before eventually settling down in Las Vegas, NV to be nearer to Judy's family. The most important thing in Judy's life was her family. She always loved and took care of her siblings and was the world's greatest mother and grandmother. She more than loved her dogs, particularly Taz and Bogie.
Through the years Judy was employed as a Mortgage Officer, a model for Holiday Models, as a Flying Trapeze artist with the Flying Terrels, an Administrative Officer for a real estate brokerage and developer, and a happy homemaker (she was the ultimate domestic engineer.)
Judy was a world class quilter, cook and baker, world famous for her pecan pies. She always baked cookies when it rained. If there was a raincloud in the sky you could count on a fresh batch of cookies in Judy's kitchen. One of Judy's main philosophies was, 'Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.' She was also internationally known for her Christmas decorations. She was an accomplished scuba diver, skier , loved Zumba and she was a long, loyal workout enthusiast. Judy was Drag Race Royalty and a Tournament Queen. She was a music lover who particularly loved country. She was a serious patriot with maximum love for her country.
She was always thinking of others and whenever we would travel she would send us off with a fresh batch of cookies and a reminder to 'Call when you get there.' She would so have loved the caring and compassionate medical staff that cared for her at the end.

Her primary preference for contributions were Tunnels to Towers and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Do not stand by my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. - Anon. 'Good Grief' - Judy
