Kevin Patrick
Sechrist
Jun 13, 1958 — Sep 21, 2026
Las Vegas
Kevin Patrick Sechrist, age 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on September 21, 2026.
Kevin was born on June 13, 1958 in Wichita, KS to Margaret Ann Sechrist and Mac Ivan Sechrist. Kevin loved being the 13th grandchild, having 13 letters in his name and being born on a Friday the 13th. He always thought that to be his lucky day. After High School (Rancho) and jobs at a bank, a lumber company and Nevada Nut and Bolt, Kevin went to work for Silver State Disposal, which is now Republic Services. He worked there as a Diesel Mechanic until his retirement.
Kevin will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, his kindness, his willingness to help anyone in need and the little zingers he would say when you thought he was not paying attention to the conversation. Kevin loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking or just sitting and watching a beautiful sunset. You never had to ask him twice if he wanted to go on a trip, his bags would be packed before the reservations were finalized. Watching football was a must on his large TV and of course, watching or going to a VGK game.
Kevin met his wife, Eileen, when working at First National Bank in the late 70’s. While at a bank picnic, there were a lot of water balloons flying around. Kevin took things one step further and emptied a frisbee filled with ice and water down Eileen’s back. Kevin loved to say, “he broke the ice that day” and they were together from that day forward. Kevin and Eileen married in Nov 1979 and together, they enjoyed 46 years of being side by side.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Sechrist and Mac Sechrist, and younger brother Charles Sechrist.
Kevin is survived by his wife Eileen, his beautiful daughters Ashley and Alicia, brothers Eric (Diana), Douglas and Jeffery and his sister Cynthia. His many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and all the friends he would refer to as family. Family was always number one.
Kevin may have lost the fight to overcome cancer, but he fought the battle valiantly till the end. While at this time the sorrow and pain of the loss is insurmountable, our hearts remain full. We will always carry the joy, the love and the many blessings he helped to create.
Services will be held at a later date.
