Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpectedly passing of our father, Lonny Lorenzo Padilla, age 68. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born December 11, 1954 in Oxnard, Ca. to Eugenio and Acension Padilla. He attended Channel Islands High School, Class of 73. His career was in construction as a concrete finisher for almost 40 years, in California, Texas, and last in Las Vegas. Once retired, he worked occasionally as a crossing guard for All City Management Services in Las Vegas for 10 years. Lonny enjoyed traveling when he could to California and Arizona to visit his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends in Las Vegas. He enjoyed classic cars, attending Pow Wows, variety of music, such as Native American, Santana and Old School. Lonny is survived by his children, son, Lonny 'Booboo' Padilla (wife Carmen), grandsons, Lonny Jacob, Christian, daughter, Marie Grant (husband Timothy), grandchildren, Brian, Devin 'Nunu', Simone, Jasmine 'BooBoo', son, Fernando 'Fonzie' Rojelio (wife Yesenia), grandchildren, Alope, Leonardo, sisters, Ramona, Gloria, Kathy, brothers, Eugene 'Gene' (wife Estella), Paul, Danny as well as some aunts, uncles, many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended grandchildren and his beloved dog Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Acension, sisters, Kathy (1st), Maria, Eva (husband Roger Oliva), brothers, Johnny (1st), twin brother Johnny and Joseph 'Joe'. Arrangements for a Celebration of Life will be made by his surviving children. Family and friends will be notified when a date and place has been set in the future. It will take place in Lonny's hometown, Oxnard, Ca. The Padilla and Grant family would like to thank Aaron at Care Cremation & Burial for taking care of our father, providing comfort to us and making us feel he was in caring hands.
