Obituary

Our Mom went to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on January 19, 2024, after a brave and lengthy medical battle.

Born on July 27, 1942 in Erie PA to parents Arthur D Young & Rita C Young (Genetti).

At the tender age of four, she lost her father in a tragic accident. Her mother, she and her twin brother moved in with her Grandparents (Leon & Angeline Genetti) in Hazleton, PA. Surrounded by love and family, she flourished. She helped her Nono make Tyrolean sausage & wine in the basement; when older she worked in the family Deli & Banquet Hall. No doubt, that is where she learned all the traditional family recipes we all enjoy so much. She attended Saint Gabriel Catholic school until she graduated in 1960 and then went on to Business School.

In 1961 she married our Dad, Ferdinand P. Lychock, Sr. (dcd. 2008) and moved to southern California where they grew their family. In 1970 the family moved to Las Vegas, NV, where she would live until her passing. Mom enjoyed raising her three children; Ferdinand Jr, Lisa & Robert, cooking amazing meals, baking traditional cookies and entertaining. The whole neighborhood looked forward to her Knadle's every holiday season. A devoted Catholic her entire life, she enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She touched the lives of many with her welcoming personality and beautiful smile.

We have been blessed to call her Mom, our Children call her Grammi and their children GG. She loved us all with abundance and shared with us how grateful she is to have had this long and happy life, enjoying all the milestones of her family and feeling so loved.

She is survived by her twin brother, Arthur Young; her three children, Ferd, Lisa ten grandchildren, Courtney, Sean, Matthew, Leah, Luke, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Haleigh & Olivia; and seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylee, Allan, Jason, Natalia, Clayton & Ava.

Services and mass will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, 11:00am at Saint Viator Catholic Church; 2461 E Flamingo Rd in Las Vegas, NV.

She will be laid to rest in Hazleton, PA., near her parents, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, you are welcome to make a memorial donation to St. Jude.
